Biography

I am a full-time firefighter/paramedic with South Jordan City. I started my career in EMS in 1994 as a paid, on-call responder for Lehi City working as I earned a Bachelor’s degree in education. This transitioned into firefighting in 1999. This department gave me invaluable experience running medical and fire calls. I spent a decade working as an EMT-I/Firefighter for Lehi. During these years, I also worked as emergency department technician for American Fork Hospital, as an EMS Instructor for the State of Utah, and as a full-time public school teacher. I have since worked part-time for several rural fire departments and taught EMS at MTECH and UVU. I have a 17 year-old daughter and two sons, 13 and 14 years old. My daughter loves all things horses and does rodeo and horsemanship. My boys are in a thrash metal band as the drummer and bassist (my house is noisy). I am a busy single mom but we have a lot of fun.
