Biography

Dr. Millar is a general surgeon who specializes in caring for patients with emergent surgical problems and complex traumatic injuries. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. He graduated with a degree in microbiology from BYU and then went on to complete medical school and residency at the University of Utah. He did a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Cincinnati where he then stayed on as faculty. He was a professor of surgery for 7 years and then returned to Utah with his family. He loves the outdoors spending time with his family and close friends. His wife is his best friend, and he has four wonderful children.

Dr. Millar works to improve the care of traumatically injured patients locally and nationally. He runs the trauma program at Utah Valley Hospital. He has been recognized as a Future Trauma Leader with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and works locally with the regional and state trauma committees.
