Responding to Anhydrous Ammonia Emergencies
82% of the United States’ Anhydrous Ammonia is used in agriculture, 8% for refrigeration, and 2% in utility facilities such as water treatment plants. The other 8% is often misused or mishandled by individuals producing methamphetamine.
During this session, attendees will learn the dangers of Anhydrous Ammonia and how it is transported in the United States. They will also better understand how users are often injured and killed while transferring Anhydrous Ammonia. Participants will learn how to decontaminate patients and provide special BLS & ALS care.
