This presentation provides a prehospital-focused overview of sepsis and septic shock, emphasizing the importance of recognizing sepsis early—even when a patient does not initially appear critically ill. The significant mortality associated with sepsis challenges providers to identify which seemingly stable patient may have the greatest risk of deterioration.
