Compassionate Communication – A Guide To Supporting Grieving Families on Scene
While on scene first responders are regularly working with distraught and emotional families, but not typically given the skills of how to support them. Unfortunately, they are also not given the tools that can help them manage the effects of these interactions for themselves. These experiences can cause unwanted trauma reactions in the first responders” brain and body. In this presentation, Dr. Tia White, LCSW will offer a discussion about grief and provide practical skills participants can take back with them to prevent the negative effects on their quality of life.
