Rebecca Ethington

I began my EMS career in 1994 and joined the fire service a couple of years later. While working as a firefighter, I earned a degree in education and taught in public schools while continuing to serve part-time in the fire service. These experiences shaped my commitment to public service, education, and professional development.

After taking some time away from emergency services to raise my three children, I returned to EMS and worked with several agencies before transitioning into paramedicine education at a local university.

Today, I serve as a full-time ground critical care paramedic and firefighter in a 911-based system, as well as a part time flight paramedic. I enjoy combining my field experience with teaching, mentorship, and the ongoing development of the next generation of EMS providers.
