Biography

Dr. Rasmussen began his surgical career in 2003 at Utah Surgical Associates. He has performed over 10,000 operations. He has broad experience in robotics and other minimally invasive approaches, complex abdominal operations, trauma, and weight loss surgery. Fluent in Spanish, he connects deeply with his patients from diverse backgrounds.

After graduating from Brigham Young University for his undergraduate studies and the University of Utah for medical school, he completed his residency at the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency.

Outside of medicine, he indulges in various hobbies, including wake surfing, skiing, and travel. He also delves into language studies, encompassing Italian, Mandarin, French, Swedish, Arabic, Danish, and Spanish. Additionally, he finds joy in researching family history, particularly Danish records.

In his personal life, Dr. Rasmussen is blessed with a loving family, including his amazing wife and their six children—five boys and one girl. With two children married and six grandchildren, and more on the way, family remains the cornerstone of his life.
