Chris Burk, MPA, NRP

Chris has a passion for our craft and loves learning and mentoring all things FIRE, RESCUE & EMS. He has been in uniform for 22 years; first in service to our country and now as a Fire / Medic / HRT member. As a proud combat veteran and adjunct with the Utah Fire-Rescue Academy, Chris has a long history of mentoring ‐ teaching everything from FF 1 and FF 2 (PPE, ropes and knots, fire attack, extrication), heliborne rappel, marksmanship, martial arts, pharmacology, trauma, physiology, to mass casualty incident (MCI) response, cardiology, football, and volleyball.

He is a proud member of the Honor Guard and is passionate about veterans advocacy, first responder mental fitness and partnering with other groups and leveraging technology (CMEs, Push To Survive, UtahRA) to make our craft the best it can be. He holds Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, a master’s degree in public administration (MPA) and a bachelor’s degree in emergency management. Chris loves military history and is a student of Critical Care medicine, leadership, flight, and the modern fire environment.

Chris is a Flight Medic and teaches ACLS, TCCC, Handtevy and all aspects of Emergency Medicine to varied groups across the country.
