Biography
Tammy began her passion for healthcare as a traveling care giver in rural Carbon County, Utah. She graduated with her RN from the College of Eastern Utah and soon had her first chance to work in emergency medicine. She has been an unstoppable force of change, advocacy and professionalism ever since. She always strives to be “in the middle of it” and it wasn’t long before she earned the moniker “Tambo”. Tammy has worked as an ED Nurse for Cottonwood Hospital, she was part of the opening team at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray where she was a bedside nurse and charge nurse for 11 years. She’s worked at the University of Utah, Alta View and LDS hospitals.
Tammy left bedside nursing, which makes her sad inside sometimes, to pursue more challenging roles in the organization. She managed the Snowbird Clinic for two years until she had the opportunity to start a trauma program at Intermountain Layton Hospital. She and her team managed to stand up a Trauma III program at a new facility within an unprecedented 18 months of opening. Tammy is now the Trauma Program Manager at McKay-Dee Hospital (an ACS designated level two trauma center), The Chair of the CISM team, and the current president of the Utah Trauma Program Managers for Utah. Tammy loves being able to improve the care provided to injured patients in her community, and working with CISM to provide paths to resilience for first responders and hospital caregivers.
