Biography
Dr. Murdock began his medical career as an EMT in 1985, running full time with Wasatch County EMS for over 25 years. BYU afforded him the opportunity of graduating in nursing. He was then off to medical school at the U of U, and finally a residency program in EM at Michigan State University. He is currently board certified in Emergency Medicine. EMS has been his driving force and continues to be his passion. He is currently working in the EDs at Utah Valley Hospital and Orem Community Hospital.
He serves the EMS community as much as he can, overseeing six EMS agencies, the TERT team (join!) and the Utah County S&R medical crew. He is well known for defending EMS agencies that are threatened with politically motivated takeover attempts. He has attended the EMS Associates conference since 1985 and now has a chance to share EMS education with as many as will attend.
Outside of EMS, he spends his time with his AWESOME family and loves to be outdoors (which helps him improve his ability to teach wilderness medicine and wilderness survival). Elle and he have a passion for EMS and they hope it shows.
