Biography

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah

Undergrad: University of Utah

Medical School: University of Utah

Surgical Residency: University of Arizona in Tucson

Trauma/Critical Care Fellowship: UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento CA

After four years practicing in Northern California, joined Intermountain Healthcare in 2006. Came as the first critical care fellowship trained trauma surgeon to strengthen the trauma service at LDSH. Has served as the Chair of Utah Trauma State Advisory Committee. Currently serves as the State Chair for the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. Has been the Director of Surgical Critical Care at Intermountain Medical Center since it opened in 2007. Currently is the Trauma Medical Director at Intermountain Medical Center.

Volunteers as a ski patrol doctor at Snowbird. Enjoys cycling, skiing and snowmobiling in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains.

Married with 5 kids, at least 3 of which have or are anticipating careers in healthcare. One gorgeous granddaughter.
