Chris Blinzinger
Biography
Chris has been actively involved in the Emergency Response field for over 30 years. He first became interested in emergency services when friends encouraged him to join the Central Conejos Fire Protection District in Colorado as a volunteer firefighter in 1993. In 1996, he became an EMT and worked for Conejos County Ambulance Service. Chris served on the Manassa Town Council for 6 years in Manassa, CO where he also served as a 4-H advisor. While being involved in the field of public service, he realized the importance of community involvement and the benefit of teamwork and collaboration. Chris comes from a family focused on community service and involvement in Southern Indiana where he saw firsthand the role of family in the community.
He has a BS from UVU in Emergency Services Management and a Masters in Crisis and Emergency Management from UNLV. He joined Provo City as the Emergency Manager in September 2010. This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with Emergency Management professionals around the County, State and Nation.
