Small Airplane Crashes
This session will help prehospital care practitioners, nurses and physicians to have a better understanding of how to respond, perform triage, and treat victims of a small plane crash. We will also discuss re-triage and arrival at the emergency room.
Triage is the process of determining the priority of patients’ treatments based on the severity of their condition. This rations patient treatment efficiently when resources are insufficient for all to be treated immediately.
We will discuss the dangers of responding to an airplane crash, safety at the scene, Triage Tags, Ribbons & Tarps, the use of a causality collection point and Incident Command.
We will also discuss how patients need to be re-triaged on arrival at the emergency room.
During this session we will explain Kinetic Energy and Mechanism of Injury associated with the force of a plane crash.
