Prehospital Care For Burns

This session is designed to help Prehospital Care Practitioners better understand burns and burn care. During this session we will discuss recent burn data, the different types of burns and treatment, and will review significant hidden injuries and illness associated with industrial, hazardous materials, and chemical burns. At the completion of this course First Responders, EMR’s, EMT’s, Paramedics, Nurses, & Physicians will have a better understanding of how to better treat and manage burn patients.

A unique power point presentation will be used to show recent Workplace and Burn Data, different levels of skin, and will discuss the following types of burns; Minor, Superficial, Superficial Partial Thickness, Deep Partial Thickness, Full Thickness, Electrical, Flash, Chemical, Contact, Hydrofluoric Acid, Phosphorus and Tar.

This session will also discuss the Basic & Advanced Life Support Care for burn patients.
