This class is intended to be an introduction and reminder about the support available to first responder teams, peer support groups, and family support after a critical incident that overwhelms the team’s ability to emotionally cope like pediatric deaths, death of a peer, very horrific scene, and more.
Objectives:
- Introduction of resources CISM offers for first responders
- Offer insight about building resilience
- Give insight about recognizing your team might benefit from debriefing after a critical incident
- Discuss strategies to build strong bonds between first responders and their families
