Assessment and Management of the Neonate

When it comes to infants in a prehospital setting, it is easy to be intimidated. If that infant is premature, you may feel even more uncomfortable. In this lecture, Amber will review different age groups of infants, both full term and premature, covering important aspects of managing these infants born outside of a hospital setting. There will be a focus on the patient assessment. The learner will understand Apgar scores, and how to assign them. Priorities to successful patient outcome will be covered, as well as tips for managing a premature delivery in the field.
