Professional Athlete EMS Providers
Are EMS and professional athletics the same thing? With my background in professional sports and now as a firefighter/paramedic, I have noticed a connection between what is required to be successful in professional sports and in the FIRE/EMS service. While pursuing my career in fire/EMS, I observed that many of the traits and habits I developed during my time in professional athletics are very similar and applicable to fire/EMS work. This inspired me to create a presentation that highlights these traits and habits to help fellow service providers enhance their professional careers.
Objectives:
- Discuss teamwork for the mission.
- Discuss the “practice” and the “review.”
- Understanding the recovery
