Biography

Nathan Roll is the Associate Director of Event Medical Services for the University of Utah Department of Emergency Medicine and has more than 26 years of experience in emergency medicine and prehospital care. Throughout his career, he has worked in a variety of roles, including emergency department paramedic, rapid response team coordinator, educator, and operational leader.

Nathan oversees one of the largest event medicine programs in the region, providing medical coverage for hundreds of events annually, including professional sporting events, concerts, mass gatherings, and endurance races. He has extensive experience in the management of critically ill and injured patients and has a particular interest in operational medicine, trauma care, resuscitation, and multidisciplinary simulation training.

Nathan will be co-presenting with Dr. Holden Wagstaff on the recognition and management of traumatic cardiac arrest, emphasizing rapid identification of reversible causes, team-based decision-making, and evidence-based interventions.
