Effect of COVID-19 on EMS CPR

A pandemic creates social chaos in many ways.  But what has been the effect of the current pandemic on the performance of CPR in the community and the survival rate of its members?  Come explore the reasons, effects and solutions of the social disruption in CPR to bystanders and EMS providers.

Learner Objectives:

  1. The course participant will compare and contrast trends related to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the response to cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an out-of-hospital environment.
  2. The course participant will identify risk factors that may influence treatment decisions related cardiac arrest patients with suspected COVID-19 infections.
  3. The course participant will explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has effected the Return of Spontaneous Circulation in prehospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
